More info about formative phase general activities

The formative phase in Mozambique built on the experience gained in Zambia, and was conducted in a much shorter timeframe, i.e., within 4 weeks over June and July 2024.

It took place simultaneously in the provinces of Sofala (Districts of Nhamatanda and Buzi) and Inhambane (districts of Zavala and Jangamo), benefiting from support of the NTP, and the collaboration of 3 research units namely INS-CISPOC in Maputo, INS-CIOB in Beira and NIOI in Inhambane.

One to 2 facilities were visited each day. Through the observations and interviews collected within the health facilities, districts, and communities, we were able to assess the human resources and technical capacity for TB diagnosis at low levels of care, and to engage with all key stakeholders, including TB focal points and community leaders.

This formative work was articulated with specific information system training planned by the NTP (in link with the national effort to support digital health).
