Formative research activities

Formative research:
Research consisting of the collection of useful data for the development and implementation of intervention programs

The Decide TB formative research aims were to:

. Describe contexts: assess key indicators and characteristics of health facilities and communities, and specifically related to childhood TB services

. Identify the potential barriers and facilitators to the delivery and implementation of TDAs

. Generate suggestions and recommendations for key stakeholders, including implementers and community mobiliser.

It consisted in mixed methods data collection by multidisciplinary teams, in the 4 participating districts in each country: questionnaires, observations and semi structured individual and group interviews, with health care workers, parents/caregivers of children ad key informants.
