Decide TB Community Engagement: A Live Example from Luanshya

Community mobilization is essential in the fight against tuberculosis, helping to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and encourage people to seek timely care.
As part of its efforts to improve TB awareness and access to care, Decide TB conducted community mobilization activities in Luanshya District, Zambia, in May 2025.

The activities brought together a wide range of community actors—health workers, church leaders, school officials, neighborhood committees, and traditional healers—to spread information on TB symptoms, early diagnosis, and treatment adherence.

Interactive methods such as theatre plays, role-plays, and radio programs helped reach families with practical and stigma-free messages about TB.

This initiative complements Decide TB’s broader commitment to raising community awareness and improving childhood TB diagnosis in collaboration with national TB programs.
